Final Exams: State Exam and Master’s Thesis Defense

Students have three opportunities each academic year to complete their State Exam and Master’s Thesis Defense:

Scheduling:
Specific dates for these exams are announced in advance by the faculty. Students are advised to monitor announcements on InSIS and their programme’s communication channels for exact deadlines and details.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for the State Exam and Thesis Defense, students must:
- Successfully complete all required courses and earn the required number of ECTS credits.
- Submit their Master’s Thesis by the specified deadline (usually several weeks before the defense).
Preparation:
- The State Exam assesses knowledge gained throughout the programme, with a focus on core and compulsory courses.
- The Master’s Thesis Defense involves presenting and defending your research before a committee of faculty members, followed by a Q&A session.
How to Register:
Registration for the exams is done through InSIS. Students must ensure they register within the given registration window for their preferred exam term.
